The first time Josh wheeled into House of Cards, he noticed Micah. It was kind of hard to not notice Micah, when he sits right in the waiting room. Have you ever just sat in a place, looked at a person, and made up stories about their lives? That is what Josh did for Micah, because it just made him wonder…what type of man is a receptionist at a brothel? Since his very first time at House of Cards, which was probably about three months ago, he hand never seen Micah with a client. Not one.
Josh himself had been with Derek, and Blaine, and Logan. Each one had their own style of doing things, but less face it, Josh was a difficult client. He pegged himself as such. Micah always kissed him and his brother on the forehead, each time they came in. Did he always do that? Josh was thinking all of these thoughts, when the object of his thoughts interrupted him.
“So sorry for your wait Mr. Tipton.” Micah said, and he wore a goofy smile.
“How much longer?” Josh tried to sound authoritative, like Bailey, but his voice failed him, and he ended up sounded kind of pathetic.
“I’m sorry sir. Derek is sick. Logan is with a client, and Blaine has left us for greener pastures. I’m trying my best….” he muttered. Micah went back to work. He was typing on the computer, and calling on the phone. He spoke in hushed tones so Josh could not hear.
“Do you ever take clients?” Josh asked out of curiosity.
Micah dropped the phone. He scampered to pick it up. Josh looked on with curiosity.
“I could!” Micah said bravely. He wasn’t innocent. He had sex, good old consenting, gay sex. He had read books. He had read the tons and tons of books on the subject. Micah nodded and puffed out his chest. He was an expert in the matter, he was sure.
“Would you take on me?” Josh asked gently.
Micah gulped. No one had ever asked for him before. Micah was the bookkeeper. Micah was the receptionist. Micah was the one who set up rooms and made sure they were clean after. Micah very happily worked in a brothel, but he had never sold his body before. But this…this was Joshua Tipton. He wouldn’t really be selling his body, per se, more or less his mind.
Micah nodded. “I would be honored.”
“Shall we then?” Josh asked and pulled Micah down in his chair as he wheeled through the door. Micah blushed at the action, he had never seen Josh do that with another man.
Josh spoke to Micah as they slowly wheeled to his room. “I watch you. You don’t notice, but I do. Since the first time I came into this place, you installed the button that opened that door. Every time I come, my room is just a little bit better.” Josh parked his chair in a room on the first floor, one that was equipped an adjustable bed, and a pulley system, to help Josh into bed. “Tell me, will you come and do up my own bedroom.”
Micah missed the joke and nodded, as he slowly got up. “I would be more than happy too. I’ve just read a lot…on spinal chord injuries, and I just wanted to make this place as pleasurable as possible!” Micah exclaimed.
Josh chuckled. “You really are something else. I have to get ready Micah. Do you think you can give me 30 minutes? Think you can find someone to man the desk?”
Micah laughed. “Now anyone can do that.”
